After 20+ years in IT and Finance, I joined the XRPL labs team in December 2019. I considered it quite a challenge to work with the team and take payments into the new world using blockchain technology.

Xaman was created to address a specific need within the XRPL community for a user-friendly, secure, and robust platform for managing digital assets. The driving force behind Xaman was to simplify the user experience while providing complete control over their assets through self-custody, making it easier for everyone, from beginners to advanced users, to engage with XRPL.

Unique Features: XRPL provides one of the oldest DeFi solutions that has stood the test of time and offers many native features that help ease onboarding businesses to the XRPL. It also offers a non-energy-intensive consensus mechanism, which is crucial for sustainable blockchain solutions and something necessary to bring blockchain to the masses.

Do you plan on Xaman to be used in e-commerce? If so, what would it look like?

We are actively exploring integrations allowing Xaman to be used in e-commerce settings. This would potentially look like a seamless payment gateway for online stores, enabling quick and secure transactions directly from the Xaman wallet. Reducing fees and increasing transaction speed would benefit both merchants and customers.

The most important aspect of security is the user; while we offer many features and have built our app with security as a key focus, the user is responsible for private key management and safekeeping. To help our users with this, we have a fully-fledged help centre that explains the ins and outs of the XRPL, Xaman, and security. We also have a blog that keeps our users up to date with all of the latest developments from us.
