Brains of Crypto: Insights from Cleev.io – The Leading Blockchain Development Agency
Get the inside scoop on blockchain innovation from Cleev.io expert Ondřej Macháček – a leader in the industry who's responsible for creating blockchain and web3 apps for its clients.
Cleev.io is a software development agency specializing in blockchain. It is creating innovative and robust blockchain solutions for businesses, governments, and organizations of all sizes.
The company was founded in 2008 and it has quickly established itself as a leader in the industry, creating custom software solutions for both private and public clients. Cleevio has earned a reputation as one of the top software development companies in the Czech Republic.
During the Defi summer of 2020, the company established its blockchain-specialized branch called Cleev.io which quickly became one of the top blockchain development agencies.
Today, we’re excited to interview Ondřej Macháček. Ondřej is the Head of the Blockchain Department. He has spent his entire career in the financial sector, and before joining the Cleevio team, he built, for example, Mall Pay - a service for postponed payments.
What inspired you to specialize in blockchain development?
Blockchain development is an area that I've been drawn to because of my previous experiences in the financial sector and banking. I saw the potential for this technology to revolutionize the entire industry.
I also see that people who are involved in the blockchain industry are often among the best in IT, and I believe this trend will continue with the emergence of blockchain and AI.
What do you think sets you apart from other blockchain development firms?
What sets us apart from other blockchain development firms is our portfolio of successful projects and the fact that our clients trust us enough to recommend us to others. We strive to be a long-term partner for our clients, not just a one-time service provider.
Our added value is our ability to adapt to our clients' needs, whether it's scaling up at the beginning of a project or slowing down due to market changes.
We don't just do blockchain development, we can help clients from the idea phase through design to product launch. Our past projects include web2 projects for Deloitte, McDonald's and others. We also have a large network and can help with funding.
In addition, all our developers have been vetted through a KYC process, we all know each other personally and our entire Cleev.io team is based in our Prague office.
There are many interesting projects in your portfolio. Which one you’re most proud of?
As for the project that I am most proud of, I would have to say that it's hard to choose just one. Currently, we are focusing on delivering Suipad, a launchpad on the new SUI protocol, and soon, the pilot of WhereAt, which has a strong team. The teams working on these projects are doing great work, and I believe these projects will take us in the right direction.
What challenges did you face while working on this project?
SUI is a new blockchain without a main network yet. So the challenges we faced were related to supporting new technology and a constantly changing environment.
With WhereAt, we had to navigate changes to Apple's rules and in-app purchases which caused some challenges.
Security is a crucial aspect of blockchain development. How do you approach it?
I agree. Security is of utmost importance in blockchain development, and we take it very seriously. We have our smart contracts audited by partners such as CertiK, and we conduct penetration tests on larger projects.
Security is also addressed in collaboration with the customer, tailored to the product being developed. We also give a manual to our clients on how to best protect their assets in the blockchain industry.
If you could choose, in the development of which blockchain application you would like to participate in and why?
In the future, we're interested in participating in the development of EVM chains such as Polygon, BNB Chain and Ethereum, as well as exploring newer chains that have promising use cases and strong teams.
We're always looking for projects that have the potential to make a real impact on the world. SUI or Aptos come to mind, but there we will see how the core team handles the big competition. We also like the Cosmos ecosystem.
What applications in the blockchain ecosystem are you most excited about?
The Backpack on Solana is an incredibly intriguing project. I am also a fan of Secret Network and its approach to addressing security and anonymity.
What do you think the future of crypto looks like?
I see wider adoption as the key to unlocking the true potential of this technology. This will require thoughtful regulation. In addition, I believe we will see a shift in the gaming industry and the growth of DeFi will continue to be a major trend.
I also see a huge opportunity to improve the customer experience in the crypto space. Currently, the journey for the average user is quite cumbersome. With many projects only catering to early adopters, it is crucial that we work to make it more accessible to the masses.
What cryptocurrency niches do you think have the most potential for growth and why?
In the next bull market, I believe we will see growth across the board. I'm bullish on Binance Coin (BNB) and Ethereum (ETH) for continued growth, but it's hard to predict which coin will be the next diamond in the rough. The crypto space is always full of surprises, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
