Hololoot was founded in early 2021 by an AR veteran Adam Białoń. The project was launched to bridge two growing technologies: AR and NFTs. There was a clear path forward for augmented reality, however, at the start of 2021, the technology was still searching for its first use case capable of driving mass adoption. The need for costly equipment like VR headsets and powerful computers also restricted the growing interest in the metaverse.
Hololoot&rsquo;s $HOL token launched on December 13, 2021, on the BNB chain network. In 2022 Hololoot ticked off several major milestones and product releases by the year&rsquo;s end:

Eventually, Hololoot will feature multi-user modes, allowing users to share their AR setups and interact with others in real-time.
Hololoot also offers engagement-driven B2B marketing opportunities via its app. Brands can launch promotional assets to users in AR and create a unique experience for their customers.

Hololoot uses technologies like ARkit, AR Foundation, and glTF files to give users an immersive experience. The app takes advantage of depth cameras and LIDAR to create high-precision scans of rooms that recognize parameters and the objects they contain.
Hololoot AR also uses a technology called Light Estimation to generate environment probes in real-time from physical, real-world rooms. The app detects environment light data like temperature and brightness and then applies it to the 3D models with color correction. This allows the models to light dynamically, mimicking the real world.

Hololoot&rsquo;s development roadmap stretches over several years as predicted advances in AR technology come to fruition. Geolocation, P2P marketplace services, multi-user experiences, and AR hardware integration are all key parts of the roadmap that are expected to see completion throughout 2023 and 2024.
